Roger has always been active in fitness!! He lettered in basketball and volleyball at St. Louis High School and was MVP for my varsity teams his senior year. He attended Colorado State University in 1992-93 where he played for their club team and started as a freshman.
For Roger, Crossfit is more than a workout; it’s an opportunity for growth in a safe environment not only physically but mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Crossfit has given him the opportunity to breakdown barriers and limits he thought he had.
Roger has a passion to help youth be better physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
“This passion allows me to connect with my students so that they believe they are capable of achieving anything in life. I learn from them as much as they learn from me. What I love about coaching is to see the growth in the athletes as they put in the work to be better than they were before. I bring flexibility, but firm structure as well. My athletes are held accountable for certain responsibilities and I expect them to uphold themselves to that. I bring a balance of intensity and empathy. When it is time to work it is time to work and I will encourage the athletes to test themselves every time and be aware, reflect on their performance. I love them as they are my own, I am responsible for them from when I have them until they leave me. I strive to make them feel safe and secure in areas that they perceive as hard or out of their comfort zone and also when they are most vulnerable. Most of all we have fun!!” – Roger —
