Allen played football, basketball, and ran track in high school. Although very active growing up, staying active as an adult proved a little more difficult until he tried CrossFit in 2011. Not only does CrossFit help him live healthier, but being part of a community filled with amazing people is an added benefit.
Allen also got an early start in coaching at the age of 19 and continued for years until his kids began playing sports. Helping others out at the box is just an extension of previous coaching experience and working with others to improve performance.
Though much of Allen’s previous athletic experience involved quite a bit of running, he currently prefers to lift heavy stuff and enjoys making the most of Alaka'i CrossFit’s awesome strength area.
